James E. Graytok, 84, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on Monday, March 15, 2016 in Mesa.
He was born on November 27, 1931 in Canonsburg, a son of the late Vincent P. and Anna M. Snyder Graytok.
He was a 1949 graduate of Canonsburg High School.
Jim proudly served his country with the United States Air Force. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After 26 devoted years, he retired in 1978 as a Senior Master Sergeant.
Upon his retirement from the Air Force, Jim relocated to Dayton, Ohio, where he worked for Sears. Upon his retirement from Sears in 1995, he relocated to Mesa, Arizona, where he was a member of Holy Cross Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.
Jim loved to travel. He and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. They especially enjoyed Martha’s Vineyard.
On October 17, 1953 he married Helen L. Williams Graytok, who passed away on May 13, 2015.
Surviving is his beloved daughter, Sharon L. (Michael F.) Frederick of Gilbert, Arizona; loving granddaughter, Stacey L. Frederick of Mesa, Arizona; niece, Kathleen Tranquillo of Abington; and a nephew, Mark V. (Margaret) Graytok of Greensburg.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent R. (the late Eleanor A.) Graytok.
Friends are welcome from 10-11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120. A Catholic blessing service will follow at 12 Noon in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, with full military rites accorded by United States Air Force.
