Jacob P. Churbock

Jacob P. Churbock, 91 of Canonsburg passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Consulate Health Care of North Strabane.

He was born on July 25, 1925 in Loyalhanna to Joseph and Ann Kissell Churbock, Sr., who preceded him in death.

He was married to Mary Savanelli who survives.

Mr. Churbock was a veteran having served with the United States Coast Guard as a Seaman First Class during World War II.

He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1949 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Westinghouse as an Electrical Engineer for over 40 years.

He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the McDonalds Guys Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Richard A. Churbock, of Marietta, Georgia, Barry J. Churbock of Mason, Ohio, Jacob P. Churbock, Jr. (Angie) of Muncie, Indiana, Randall L. Churbock (Freddye) of Brooks, Georgia, his only daughter, Jacquie A. Churbock of Washington, one brother Joseph Churbock of Latrobe, one sister Catherine Agostinone of Loyalhanna, three granddaughters, Ashley, Jessica and Bridgette Churbock, one great granddaughter, Audrey and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother John Churbock.

Friends are welcome from 6-8 pm. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow at 1:30pm in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville with full military rites accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard.
