Jack M. Cushey, 90 of Lawrence passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in McMurray Hills Manor Nursing Home in McMurray.
He was born on March 30, 1927 in Finleyville to Richard and Ruth Feevy Cushey who preceded him in death.
On September 15, 1950 he married Gladys Solties who passed away in 2009.
Mr. Cushey was a veteran having served in the United States Army.
He worked for many years as a Truck Driver until his retirement in 1989.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in his garden.
His family would especially like to acknowledge and thank McMurray Hills Manor Staff and the Allegheny Health Network Staff for their excellent care of Jack.
He is survived by two sons, Anthony A. Solties (JoEllen) of Lawrence and Jack Cushey, of Finleyville, three brothers Jim Cushey (Joann) of Florida, Fred Cushey (Carol) of Washington, and Richard Cushey (Nancy) of Lawrence, three sisters Dorothy Castor of Florida, Mariann Bolger of Chicago, Ruth Viscuco (Chuck) of Venetia, three grandchildren, Anthony Solties, Jr., Jessica Ann Fife, and Ashley McCombs, four great grandchildren, Madison McCombs, Allyson Fife, Madison Fife, Crosby Solties and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Hazel Snow.
Friends are welcome from 2~4 pm and 6~8 pm. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where a Blessing Service will be held at noon on Monday, June 5, 2017. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road Bridgeville at 1 p.m. Full military rites will be accorded by VFW Post 191 Honor Guard.
