Jack F. Dayton, 57, of Canonsburg, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 26, 2014 following an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 21, 1957 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Wilbur L. and Eleanor F. Ramsey Dayton.

Jack was a life-long resident of Canonsburg. He proudly served his country with the U. S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1977. He was a member of the VFW Post 553 in Strabane. He retired in 2009 from Estes Trucking after 15 dedicated years. Jack was a Ham Radio Operator with his call letters KA3ZLR and a past member of WACOM.

On September 28, 1979 he married Diana Sue Quevi, who survives.

Also surviving are his beloved three children, Jessica (Jeff) Crum of Upper St. Clair, Kimberly Dayton of Pittsburgh, and Jacob Dayton of Canonsburg; his sisters, Donna (Michael) Stutts of Canonsburg and Diane (Michael) Burns of Washington; his brother, Jerry (Kathy) Dayton of Mt. Holly, NJ; his half brother, Bill (Carol) Dayton of Redington Beach, FL; his mother-in-law, Beverly Quevi of McDonald; and his life-long best friend, Mark (Karen) Jacobs of Eighty Four. Jack also leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Princess and Puddles, who stayed by his side until he took his last breath.

In addition to his parents, deceased is his sister, Dixie Dayton, who passed away in 2005.

Friends are welcome from 2:00 " 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 31, 2014 with Rev. Don Coleman officiating, with military honors accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard beginning at 10:45 AM. A private interment will take place in Oak Spring Cemetery in Canonsburg.
