Irene H. Gretsky age 84 of Canonsburg went home to be with the Lord Sunday February 3, 2013 in Canonsburg General Hospital. She had been a resident of Manor Care for the passed five years.
She was born May 10, 1928 in Houston a daughter of the late Andrew and Eva Hupchek Holik. Mrs. Gretsky lived her entire life in Canonsburg and Houston and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. She was a homemaker who in her early years had been employed at the former Canonsburg Pottery for 15 years and the Continental Can Company for 3 years both in Canonsburg.
On September 26, 1959 she married John Gretsky who passed away on November 1, 1990. Surviving are three daughters; Patricia (Steve) Gretsky-Williams of LaPlata Maryland, Paula (Brian) Hritsko and Pamela Gretsky, both of Canonsburg, six grandchildren; Kelsey, Kenzie and Logan Pape, Josiah, Natalie and Timothy Hritsko and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are two sisters Sophie Brenan and Mary Cyprowski and three brothers; Stephen, George and Andy Holik.
Friends are welcome Tuesday February 5, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8pm in Salandra Funeral Service Inc. Joseph P.
