Ida M. McAnany age 96 of Claysville, died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at McMurray Hills Manor, McMurray.
She was born July 16, 1914, in Arcisate, providence of Como, Italy, the daughter of the late Luigi and Josephine Comolli Piffaretti.
Mrs. McAnany was a graduate of Claysville High School and a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Canonsburg.
She was a devote housewife and in here earlier years was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and worked for the Western Center.
Mrs. McAnany enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking and baking for them.
Surviving are son, Stanley (Dianna) Grabowski of Canonsburg, daughter, Peggy (Gordon) Little of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; seven grandchildren, Yavonne, Lisa, and Stephen Grabowski, Sharon L. Grabowski, Sheila (Dan) Rura, Daryl (Bridget) Little and Dr. Debra (Paul) Ford; eight great-grandchildren, Coty Wagner, Devin and Denielle Malone, Brandi and D.J. Rura, Anthony Scola, Jr., Brianna Ford and Brandon Little.
Deceased is her first husband, Valentine Grabowski, her second husband, Edward McAnany, son, Louis "Lou" Grabowski and brother, Ettore Piffaretti.
Friends are welcome on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Committal Service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 10:00 am at Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. Please meet the family at Cemetery Chapel by 9:45 am.
