Hilda (DeFrancisis) Alesii

Hilda Alesii age 90 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday February 26, 2017 in Consulate Health Care of North Strabane following an extended illness. She was born May 18, 1926 in Avella a daughter of the late Domenick and Philomena Checchini DeFrancisis.

Mrs. Alesii was raised in Vandergrift after her parents had come from Italy. She then lived in Muse and most of her life in Canonsburg where she was a faithful member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers and Guild. Her first job was with Schenley Distributors and after her marriage worked at the Muse Independent Club. Mrs. Alesii loved her grandchildren who were her life. She enjoyed circle word puzzles, and watching television, particularly talk shows.

On October 29, 1949, she married Antonio Alesii, with whom she shared her birthday. He passed away April 21, 1982. Surviving to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter Juliana (Andrew) Shuble of Canonsburg, her two beloved grandchildren; Nicholas A. Shuble and Kristy M. (Wayne) Wilson, great granddaughter, Elaina Rae Wilson, her brother Arthur DeFrancisis of Vandergrift, her sister Norma P. Mele of Arnold and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind special friends Frank and Mary Scandale who are to be thanked for all they did for her. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, is a brother Geno S. DeFrancisis.

Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Wednesday March 1,2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30am Thursday March 2, 2017 followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
