Herbert C. Mollenauer, Jr.

Herbert C. "Herb" Mollenauer, Jr., 70, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital.

He was born on September 20, 1943 in Canonsburg, the son of the late Herbert C. and Madeline E. Corcoran Mollenauer.

A graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, Herb was a life-long resident of Canonsburg. Mr. Mollenauer proudly served his country in Vietnam with the U. S. Navy. He was an active member of South Canonsburg Church and was also a retiree of McGraw-Edison. Herb had a zest for life and a passion for GOD! He always shared his happiness, with family and friends, especially his grandchildren! Herb also enjoyed dancing, fishing, sports and obviously Canon-McMillanWrestling!

On March 30, 1967 he married his one true love and high school sweetheart, Margaret Rose Nardine, who passed away on June 7, 2007.

Surviving are his two loving children, Jamie (Christopher) La Mantia of St. Louis, MO and Sean Patrick (Angela) Mollenauer of Collier; a sister, Sandra O. Mollenauer of San Diego, CA; and six grandchildren, Angelo Kenneth La Mantia of St. Louis, Giavonna Mollenauer of Collier, Isabella La Mantia of St. Louis, and Roman Kenneth Mollenauer, Francesca Mollenauer, and Luca Marie Mollenauer, all of Collier. He was also preceded in death by his beloved and truly cherished son, Kenny Nardine Mollenauer.

Friends are welcome on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM and 5:00-8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 12 Noon with Rev. Steve Parkhill officiating. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp., with full military rites accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard.
