Helen K. Navrotski age 86 of Canonsburg passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 19, 1926 in McDonald, Pa.; the daughter of the late Walter Korzinski and Stella Novak Korzinski Navrotski.
Mrs. Navrotski was a graduate of McDonald High School. She lived most of her adult life lived in Canonsburg, where she was a member of Scared Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church.
She worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone and Sears and Roebuck, where she retired. In her earlier years, she worked as a welder during World War II as part of the war effort. Mrs. Navrotski was very involved in the Girl Scouts as well as the Boy Scouts when her children belonged.
She was best known for the cakes she baked and decorated for all occasions and also for the many different cookies she make for Christmas.
On June 1, 1947 she married her beloved husband Walter M. "Vug" Navrotski, who passed away April 26, 2008.
Surviving are son, Robert Lee Navrotski of Canonsburg; daughter,
Denise N. (Ron) Levi of Eighty-Four, grandson, Jason Levi of Las Vegas Nevada; two daughters of the heart, Darlene Harris of Canonsburg and Jeanne Prewitt of La Verne, Calf. ; many cousins.
She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased also is her brother,
Walter "Hunk" Korzinski and step-father, Frank Navrotski.
At the request of Mrs. Navrotski there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church 173 East College Street Canonsburg.
Please meet family at Church. At the conclusion of Services a continuation of Celebration of life will follow at the White Eagles in Canonsburg, upper level. Arrangements are entrusted to Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. In lieu of flowers family suggest donations be made to Washington County Humane Society or to Pittsburgh Make a Wish Foundation in Mrs. Navrotski's memory.
