Helen Gardocki David, 88, of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in McMurray Hills Manor, McMurray.
She was born on November 6, 1926 in McKees Rocks, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Konefal Gardocki.
Helen was very passionate about her faith and was fondly referred to as a "prayer warrior". Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Surviving are her loving children, Lorrie (John) Hogue of Bethel Park, Jeff (Betty Lou) David of Elizabeth City, NC, Tim (Kathy) David of Bridgeville, and Maralyn "Betsy" (James, deceased) Kopach of McMurray; a brother, Leo (Jean Marie) Dyczewski of Carnegie; a sister-in-law, Donna Dyczewski of Murrysville; her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Hogue, Mara Stypula, Robert Hogue, Danielle Layton, Rebecca Jolley, Tyler David, Ashley David, Nicholas Kopach, and Andrea Kopach; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by numerous family members, including her siblings, Anthony Dyczewski, Loretta Grohol, Josephine Allie, and Alex Gardocki.
Friends are welcome from 2:00 " 4:00 and 6:00 " 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724.745.8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg with Rev. John J. Batykefer officiating. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
