Helen "Babe" Antosh age 90 of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly, Wednesday June 29, 2011 at the home of her son.
She was born August 3, 1920 in Slovan a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Kapuchinski Szczerbienski. Mrs. Antosh lived most of her life in Westland and Canonsburg where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at the Washington County Heath Center as a laundry supervisor for 20 years.
On August 21, 1941 she married John J. "Turk" Antosh who died April 18, 1999. Surviving is her son John "Rick" (Sandy) Antosh with whom she made her home the past year, six grandchildren, Sherri Schmidt, Eric Antosh, Shannon Scarfo, Scott Antosh, Jodi McClelland, Robin Spiller, ten great grandchildren Her sister Stella DiMatteo of Murrysville and many nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her husband is her daughter, Jeannie Spiller, and two brothers Marion (Jukes) and Joseph Szczerbienski.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Tuesday July 5, 2011 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9 :30 am Wednesday July 6, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday in St. Patrick Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
