Hazel L. Robinson, 87, formerly of Canonsburg, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 in the Baylor Medical Center of McKinney in McKinney, Texas with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Canonsburg on May 5, 1927, a daughter of the late Merle and Mary Passic Cannon.
A 1945 graduate of Canonsburg High School, Hazel spent most of her life in the Canonsburg area. She had been a member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church prior to relocating to Fort Myers, Florida and then served as a Deacon at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the local food bank for several years. After spending 20 years in Florida, Hazel came back to the area and for the last 10 months she resided in McKinney, Texas with her son.
On July 4, 1948 she married Earl Kenneth Pierce, who passed away in 1987.
On June 27, 1992 she married Clair A. Robinson, who passed away in 2010.
Hazel was the last of her immediate family.
Surviving are her two beloved children, Bill (Doris) Pierce of McKinney, TX and Susan (Harold) Edmondson of Lucerne Mines, PA; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth M. Pierce; three brothers, Arthur, George, and Walter Cannon; and a sister, Anna Mildred Mathia.
At Hazel's request, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service, with inurnment in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, will be held at a later date.
