Harry B. McElhaney, Jr., 86, of Lone Pine, passed away on his birthday, Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Washington Hospital.
He was born December 21, 1928 in Canonsburg, a son of the late Harry B. and Carrie B. Ayres McElhaney, Sr.
Harry was a member of the Lone Pine Christian Church. He loved woodworking, reading, and watching old John Wayne movies. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
On June 16, 1951 he married Nancy Gayle Grim McElhaney, who passed away on January 20, 2011.
Surviving are his three beloved children, Peggy (Frank) Baker of Carlisle, Sue (Jules) Sedlitsky of Lone Pine, and Michael (Dawn) McElhaney of Morgantown; a brother, James (Roberta) McElhaney of Avella; and five grandchildren, Rob Easterbrook, Rachel McElhaney, Ben (Caitlin) McElhaney, and Dylan and Daniel Sedlitsky.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Leona (Raymond) Graham and Imogene (James) Fitzgerald.
Friends are welcome from 11:00 AM " 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
