Harold Walter Muchow, Sr. age 84 of Canonsburg, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 3:53 PM in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born January 25, 1925 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin; the son of Simon and Lily Schilling Muchow.
Mr. Muchow served during World War II with the United States Army in Hawaii.
He work as a bus driver in Washington, D.C. in his earlier years, later after moving to Canonsburg, he worked at Pennsylvania Transformer and worked for Westinghouse as a draftsman for 28 years, retiring in 1992.
Mr. Muchow was a member of St. Patrick Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 both of Canonsburg.
He was an avid hunter and fishermen, enjoying the out doors.
On November 8, 1949 he married Eleanor Corcoran, of 60 years, who survives.
Also surviving are son, Harold Walter (Catherine) Muchow, Jr. of Irwin, Pa.; daughter Valerie Patton of Canonsburg; two granddaughters, Caitlin Muchow and Kelly South; two sisters; Vera (Gerhardt) Brandt and Arlene (Donald) Westphal both of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is grandson, Ryan Patrick Chabassol who died October 24, 2002; also are five brothers Gerhardt, John, Arnold Muchow and two brothers who died in earlier childhood.
Friends are welcome on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10:30AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Canonsburg. Full Military rites will be accorded by the combined Honor Guard Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston.
