Gloria J. Scears

Gloria J. Scears Age 72 of Washington passed away Saturday September 15, 2012 in the Washington County Health Center following and extended illness. She was born October 28, 1939 in Mt. Union a daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Wieczorek Szalanski. Mr. Scears lived most of her life in the Canonsburg and Houston area's where she was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Christian Mothers and Guild. She had been employed as a deli clerk at Shop N Save. She was an avid bowler and most enjoyed
spending time with her children and grandchildren and going to the casino. On January she married William Scears who died May 1976.
Surviving are her daughter Pamela (Brian) Paluda with whom she made her home, her son Robert "Bob" (Jennifer) Scears of Akron, Ohio, four grandchildren; Logan, Madelyn, Brendan and Devin, two sisters; Dorothy Wainer and Patricia (Ronald) Falcione both of Canonsburg, a brother John (Patricia) Szalanski of Washington and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome from 4-8pm Monday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9:30am Tuesday September 18, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday in St Patrick Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
