Gladys K. Cushey age 74, of Lawrence, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 9:10 AM in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born November 15 1934 in Canonsburg, the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Malachowski Solties.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all she knew.
Mrs. Cushey enjoyed cooking and baking for her family she also enjoyed bingo and going to the Meadow's.
She was catholic by faith.
Mrs.Cushey lived most of her life in Lawrence.
On September 16, 1950 she married Lester "Jack" M. Cushey, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Anthony (Jo Ellen) Solties of Lawrence; Jack (Karen) Cushey of Finleyville; four grandchildren, Anthony (Mandi) Solties, Jr., Kris (Shannon) Provence, Jessica (Jason) Fife and Ashley Cushey; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Provence, Madison Fife and Hunter Provence.
Mrs. Cushey was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased are several brothers and sisters.
Friends are welcome on Monday, May 18, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.
