Giuliana "Gulz" (Balsamo) Dennis

Giuliana “Gulz” Balsamo Dennis, 30, of McDonald passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

She was born on June 9, 1985 in Washington, the daughter of Carla S. McClelland Sanpietro, and her husband Frank, of Canonsburg and Gaspare Balsamo, and his wife, Domenica of Martinsburg, PA.

Prior to relocating to McDonald, Giuliana had been a lifelong resident of Canonsburg.  She was a 2003 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and a 2007 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.  For many years she worked at the family pizzeria, Balsamo’s Pizza, in Canonsburg.  Most recently she was employed as a Human Resource Director at AAdvantage in Meadowlands.  She was a devoted Christian and a member of Gospel Way Church in Canonsburg.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the Steelers, cooking, reading, writing, and going to church.  Above all, Gulz loved her family.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister.  She was kind hearted and well loved by everyone that had the opportunity to know her.  She will be sadly missed.

On June 2, 2012 she married her beloved husband, Jason C. Dennis.  They have a precious five month old daughter, Giana Rose Dennis.

Also surviving are six siblings, Christopher M. (Anne) Sanpietro of Houston, Frank S. (Randi) Sanpietro of Castle Shannon, Giuseppe (Susan) Balsamo of Washington, Nino (Carol) Balsamo of Bridgeville, Gabriela Balsamo of Canonsburg, and Angelo R. (Brittnie) Sanpietro of Houston; grandparents, Rev. Harold (Dorothy) McClelland of Canonsburg and Doris Cascio of Beaumont, Texas; mother-in-law, Lela (John) Gilchriest of Beaumont, Texas; father-in-law, Darrell P. (Kathy J.) Dennis of Lumberton, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jessica B. Ross.

Friends are welcome from 1:00 – 9:00 PM on Friday, April 8, 2016 and from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2016, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120.  Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
