Gilbert S. Gonglik age 80 of Canonsburg, passed away Sunday July 21, 2024, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born October 22, 1943, a son of the late Martin P. and Helen Talpas Gonglik. Gil lived his life in Canonsburg where he was a member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church and was a graduate of Canonsburg High School. He worked at Forbes Steel Corporation, then Bolsan in Washington until their closings. Prior to his retirement Gil was employed with the Canon-McMillan School District in the maintenance department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. Gil was immensely proud of his Slovak Heritage and avidly traced his ancestors. He was a member of the Jednota and Sokal Lodges. Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Martin (Heather) Gonglik of Scenery Hill, Charles (Maria) Gonglik of Hunker and Autumn (Adam) Washlack of Canonsburg, five beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Sydney, Makayla, and Zoey Gonglik, and Harper Washlack, his brother Kenneth M. Gonglik of Canonsburg and his sister Kathleen (Mark) Bainer of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is his sister Joan M. Gonglik who passed away January 30, 2012. Private family visitation with Catholic Blessing Services will be held in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P.
