George W. Pomfret

George W. Pomfret Sr., 88 of Houston, born July 20, 1936, PA passed away peacefully, Friday April 25 2025, in his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Lower Burrell, a son of the late John W. and Gertrude (Panfil) Pomfret and graduated from Ken High in 1955. He was a veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years as an Aerospace Control & Warning System Technician, where he received numerous accolades over his illustrious career. Upon retirement he worked at Western Center, U.S Steel Mill, Cracker Barrel, Cost Construction and assisted in landscaping. He enjoyed spending time with family and his two dogs, while working DIY projects at home and watching John Wayne, and listening to the Oak Ridge Boys.

He is preceded in death by his son, George, sister Louise Hartzel, and brother John. He is survived by his daughters Renee Pomfret, Debra and her husband Walter Donaldson, and Jeffrey Pomfret. Also, his best friend Amelia Pomfret and adopted daughter Gabrielle Pomfret along with 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Carol Marvan, of Arnold, brother in-law Gary Hartzel.

Arrangements, which are private, have been entrusted into the care of Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120. Interment with full Military Honors by the VFW Canonsburg an d the Untired States Air Force, will be accorded in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
