George J. Manko age 82 of Bridgeville Died Wednesday December 16, 2009 in Country Meadows.
He was born July 20, 1927 at Snowden, Allegheny County a son of the late Louis and Anna Veres Manko. Mr. Manko served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II and with the Marine Corps Reserves until 1960.He had worked at the family's Manko Greenhouse in Finleyville, as a Winders Helper at the former McGraw Edison and Cooper Power Systems in Canonsburg and Donati's Florist until 2007.
On August 18, 1962 he married Pauline Costanzo who survives. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are three brothers, Stephen, Joseph and Louis Manko.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Friday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg where a blessing service will be held at 9am Saturday December 19, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am in St. Mary's R.C. Church Cecil, with the Reverend Stan Gregorek, Pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp.
