Genevieve Koceski age 93 of Canonsburg, died at 8:50pm Monday April 13, 2009 in
Canonsburg General Hospital. She was born September 7, 1915 in Heidelberg, a daughter of Michael and Wilda Izydorczyk Nolovik. Mrs Koceski lived most of her life in Canonsburg where she was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic church, the Echo Choir and the Ladies Society of the Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament. A home maker and crafter she bowled with the Polish National Union bowling league and until the age of 90 bowled with the Inter-church bowling league.
On December 26, 1937 she married Anthony Koceski who died Thursday, September 14, 2000.
Surviving are two sons; Anthony M. (Alice) Koceski and Leon N. (Meridy) Koceski, both of Canonsburg, five grandchildren: Jay, Joy and Douglas Koceski, Danielle Koceski Bilbo and Charles Heath, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Koceski was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are a brother Peter Novolik and a sister Cecelia Dombrowski.
Friends are welcome from 6-8 pm Thursday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg where services will be held at 10 am Friday, April 17, 2009 with Reverend Joseph S. Lewandowski, officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church 171 East College Street Canonsburg or a charity of the donors choice.
