Frank "Skinner" Calabro

July 30, 1929 — February 26, 2018

Frank “Skinner” Calabro, 88 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 26, 2018 in his home.

He was born on July 30, 1929 in Muse to Dominick and Frances Zampaglione Calabro who preceded him in death.

On June 26, 1965 he married Janet R. Pykosh who survives.

He was a military veteran having served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Calabro was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Muse and a lifelong member of the Muse Independent Club.

He was employed as a steelworker for Universal Cyclops until his retirement.

Frank enjoyed building models, sitting on his tractor and cutting the grass in his yard and the simpler things in life like sitting on his porch and observing wildlife.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Frank John Calabro (Brenda) of Canonsburg and his daughter Francine Rose Bryan (Jon) of Cecil, and his grandchildren Frank James Calabro, Samantha and Sabrina Bryan, three sisters in law; Alice, Joan and Myrna Calabro and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Calabro was the last of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Paul, Carmen and Anthony Calabro and his sister Fortunata Compeggie who passed away on January 8, 2018 and her husband Joe Compeggie.

Friends are welcome from 2~4 and 6~8 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2018 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 11:20 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon in Holy Rosary Church, 246 Muse-Bishop Road, Muse, PA 15317. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, at 1:30 p.m. Military Honors will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #191 and the United States Army.
