Frances Marie Dixon

Frances Marie Dixon age 85 of Meadow Lands, died Monday May 16, 2011 in the Washington County Health Center following a lengthy illness. She was born September 2, 1925 in Meadow Lands a daughter of the late John and Jennie Troha Gruden. Mrs. Dixon lived her entire life in Meadow Lands where she was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and the Christian Mothers and Rosary Society. She was a home maker and a member of the KSKJ St. Jerome Lodge 153 of Strabane. Mrs. Dixon very much enjoyed gardening.
On September 10, 1949 she married Anthony S. Dixon who died July 22, 2007. Surviving are a daughter Sharon (Jack) Soodik of Mt. Lebanon, a son Jerry (Cindy) Dixon, her sister Albina Angott of Washington, three grand children, David and Adam Soodik and Christie Dixon and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is her brother John Gruden.
Friends are welcome from 6-9pm Tuesday and from 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, where departing prayers will be held at 10:30am Thursday, May 19, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal church with reverend John O'Shea, pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. The Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 2:30pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
