Frances M. Brushneck age 95, formerly of Hills Station, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born May 25, 1916 in Monongahela, the daughter of the late Valetine and Helen Jorgaska Samano (Solomon)
Mrs. Brushneck lived at the Canon House for the past 24 years, a member of St. Patrick Church, the Christian Mothers and Women's Guild, also member of Canonsburg Senior Citizens, Democratic Women's Club, Ladies Auxiliary-Fraternal order of Eagles Post 861-was Jr. Post President and Canonsburg Italian American Association.
She was a Nurses Aid for many years at MayView State Hospital.
Mrs. Brushneck enjoyed dancing, to bake, read and collect cook books.
Surviving are two daughters, Joann (Joseph) Gudac of Canonsburg; Betty (Leon) Ortosky of Eighty-Four; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased is her husband, John "Zonnie" Brushneck, whom she married in 1938 and died November 22, 1973, also son, William "BiBi" Campbell, three daughters, Marlene Blasco, Frances "Butchie" Staley and Mary "Mecca" Lappa, sister, Helen Procacinni and brother William Solomon.
Friends are welcome on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 2 -8 PM at Salandra Funeral Service Inc.; Joseph P. Salandra owner/ supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where Blessing Service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am in St. Patrick Church. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. Christian Mothers and Women's Guild will recite rosary at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:00 pm in honor of Frances
