Etta J. (Holt) Harper

September 17, 1939 — February 7, 2016

Etta J. Harper, 76 of Canonsburg passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016.

She was born on September 17, 1939 in McConnel Mills, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late John and Nellie McCartney Holt.

On April 7, 1962 she married James L. Harper who survives.  They were happily married for 53 years and shared many wonderful times together over the years.

Mrs. Harper spent her life, both professionally and personally taking care of others.  She was a long time member of the Living Waters Church of God in Washington.

She loved dancing especially with her sister. She also enjoyed Pittsburgh sports and was a huge Penguin fan. Mrs. Harper was known for her homemade cooking, her kind heart and was extremely faithful to her friends, family and God. Her favorite pastime was listening to country music. She adored and was adored by her grandchildren and was especially close to her granddaughter Courtney.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved children Terri L. Jeffries of Canonsburg, James B. Harper (Tina) of Houston, and Jeanne’ M. Dunn-Nale (Lorne) of Canonsburg, one sister Virginia “Ginny” Close of Washington, two grandchildren James L. Harper and Courtney J. Koltiska and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Deak Holt, two sisters, Ethel Czernecki and Gladys Holt and one grandson Randy Lee Jeffries.

Friends  are welcome from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where funeral services will begin on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:00a.m with the Rev. Michael Singo officiating.
