Emmons H. Hoover age 73 of Canonsburg, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 5, 1938 in Langloth a son of the late Herman Emmons and Letha Maude Nunn Hoover.
Mr. Hoover had served with the United States Air Force and prior to his retirement had been employed at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries in Canonsburg.
He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener, an awesome dad, a one of a kind grandfather and a loving husband.
On December 9, 1959 he married Margarete Seuferlein who survives. Also surviving are two daughters Andrea Zelenka and Brenda Hoover-Large both of Canonsburg, two sons; Robert Paul Hoover of Canonsburg and Glenn Ernst (Valerie) Hoover of Pittsburgh, four grandchildren; Samantha Chloe Zelenka, Caleb Elijah Simak-Hoover, Iris Elizabeth Hoover and Harlan Emmons Hoover, a sister Marlene (Gerald) Bailey of Phoenix Arizona and a brother David Thomas (Mildred) Hoover of Chartiers Twp.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday, September 2, 2011 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner /supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 11am Saturday, September 3, 2011 with Reverend Stephen Parkhill officiating.
