Elizabeth "Betty" VanKirk age 91 of Washington passed away at 8:31 am Tuesday January 1. 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born July 29, 1921 in Dunningsville a daughter of the late William Henry and Ella Ruth Morgan Kersten. Mrs. VanKirk resided in Laurel Maryland for many years where she had been a secretary for the National Security Agency. She lived in Eighty-Four since 1985 and the past five years in Washington at Hawthorne Woods. She was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Eighty-Four and was an avid bowler. She is survived by her sister Nancy (Robert) Pozonsky of Muse and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband Richard VanKirk who died September 28, 1987, four brothers; Harold, William, Frederick and Earl and six sisters; Ruth Kisow, Laura Morgan, Anna Blumen, Eileen and Alice Kersten and Rebecca Zepotosky who died August 22, 2012.
