Elizabeth D. Smagner 93 of Port Saint Lucie, Fl., formerly of Meadowlands, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Brighton Gardens in Port Saint Lucie, Fl.
She was born on February 16, 1915, in Canonsburg, the daughter of Steve and Elizabeth Marton Duchi.
Mrs. Smagner was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Port Saint Lucie and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Canonsburg, where she taught Sunday school for 50 years. She was also a member of Jefferson College Historical Society.
Mrs. Smagner was a devoted homemaker and an Avon Lady for 45 years.
On December 27, 1939 she married Robert J. Smagner, who died on Tuesday, July 14, 1992.
Surviving are daughter, Betty Jones of Port Saint Lucie, Fl.; son, Robert J. Smagner, Jr. of Gaylord, Michigan; five grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren as well as three nephews.
Friends are welcome on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Anne Howe officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
