Elizabeth “Betty” Haggerty age 79 of Hendersonville passed away unexpectedly on Friday December 16, 2016 in her home with her beloved husband of 59 years by her side. She was born April 19, 1938 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Stankus Kebart. Mrs. Haggerty lived her life in Hendersonville where she had been a member of the former St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Lawrence. She taught Sunday school for many years and also had been a member and past president of the Christian Mothers and Guild. After St. Elizabeth’s closing she became a member of St. Mary’s Church in Cecil. A graduate of Canonsburg High School she went on to Penn Commercial Business School. Mrs. Haggerty was a homemaker who also delivered the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for over forty years and devoted to her loving family, especially her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On September 28, 1957 she married Roger “Boots” Haggerty who survives. Also left to cherish her memory are her loving children; Mary (Alby) Dami Jr., of Hendersonville, Kathy (Mark) Lewis of Bridgeville, Joni (Paul) Hunter of Henderson Nevada and Randy (Judy) Haggerty of Davidson Michigan, her daughter in law Cara Haggerty of Canonsburg, a brother Charles William Kebart of Hendersonville, seventeen grandchildren; Heidi (Jen), Heather (Jason), Karabeth (Kevin), Meghan (Chris), John “Spike”, Michael (Jimmey), Sarah (Tim), Samantha (Colton), Jessica (Branden), Roger (Heather), Albert III (Krista), Shannon (Tyler), Aaron, Austin, Camden, Chloe and Garrett, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are a son Roger Haggerty who passed away June 28, 2014, and a brother and sister, Michael “Sonny” and Mary Kebart who died in infancy.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Monday December 19, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9am Tuesday December 20, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 10 am in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Cecil with reverend Stan Gregorek, pastor, as celebrant.
