Elizabeth F. Bernardi age 90 of McDonald died Friday June 3, 2011 in Canonsburg General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born November 17, 1920 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Vincent and Giaconda Papola Falcocchio.
Mrs Bernardi lived in the Cecil twp. area for the past 54 years, where she was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Muse and the Christian Mothers of Holy Rosary. She had been employed as an inspector at the former Continental Can Co. in Canonsburg and was last employed at Canonsburg General Hospital, She was a member of the Muse Senior Citizens, the GOL club of Muse, and was a charter member of the Muse Independent Club ladies auxiliary.
On August 2, 1947 she married Paul J. Bernardi who survives. Also surviving are two daughters Jane E.(Stanley) Hall of Canonsburg and Marilyn Bernardi Lankemeyer of Oakdale, two grandsons Gregory P. (Kendra Meyer) Hall and Brandon L. (Yvonne) Hall, a great grandson Tysen Hall, three sisters, Lucy D'Amico of Cleveland, Quinda Paris and Cecilia (Honey) Cornell both of Canonsburg, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, James and Attilio (Teo) Falcocchio and two sisters, Rita Horstman and Angela Bucci.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday June 6, 2011 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9:30am Tuesday June 7, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday in Holy Rosary Church, Muse with the Reverend George W. DeVille, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
