Eleanor C. Muchow age 88 of Canonsburg died at 4:30pm Monday September 12, 2011 in Country Meadows in Bridgeville. She was born November 14, 1922 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late John and Martha McAnallen Corcoran.
Mrs. Muchow lived most of her life in Canonsburg where she graduated from Canonsburg High School. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Christian Mothers and Guild. During World War II she was a Class B welder and worked at the Pentagon after the war. She had attended Penn Commercial business school, the University of Pittsburgh and Carlow College. Prior to her retirement she was employed as an administrative assistant for the Washington Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Muchow was an avid bowler who belonged to two leagues and was an officer in various religious organizations when she lived in Idaho.
On November 8, 1949 she married Harold Walter Muchow Sr. who died December 26, 2009. Surviving are a daughter Valerie Patton of Canonsburg and a son Harold Walter (Catherine) Muchow Jr. of Irwin, two granddaughters, Caitlin Muchow and Kelly South and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. In addition to her husband deceased are a grandson Ryan Patrick Chabassol who died October 24, 2002, two sisters Madeline Mollenauer and Audrey Jones, and three brothers, William, John and Thomas Corcoran
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Thursday and 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9am Saturday, September 17, 2011 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St Patrick R.C. Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. The Christian Mothers and Guild of St. Patrick will recite the rosary at 3pm Friday in the funeral home.
