Edward Danyo age 81 of Muse died unexpectedly at 9:10pm Saturday, September 3, 2011 at his home. He was born May 5, 1930 in Jermyn, Lackawanna County a son of Michael Danyo and Mary Lopatra Danyo Oluich and had been a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Canonsburg.
Mr. Danyo had served as a sergeant with the United States Army in the Korean War. He had been a construction worker and member of local 373 of the Laborers Union, was owner of Valley View Tavern for many years and prior to his retirement was employed as a Dog Law Warden for the Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Muse Independent Club, Fraternal of Eagles and the American Legion post 902 of Houston.
In September of 1957 he married Norma Mae Daniels who died November 28, 2005. Surviving are two daughters Linda (Zane) Karchella of Muse, Denise (Joe) Russell of Bentleyville, two sons William (Debi) Polhamus of Baltimore Md. and Edward A. Danyo of Raleigh, North Carolina, five grand children Katie, Carrie, Eddie, Samantha and Joey, a great grandson Ryan, three sisters; Dorothy LaBella of Muse, Olga (Joseph) Mikus of McMurray and Sophia (Carl) Stoperich of Houston, two brothers; William (Ginger) Danyo of McDonald and Michael Oluich of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are his twin sister Eva, who died at birth and his step father, Marko Oluich who died July 19, 1990.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike St. Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 10 am Wednesday September 7, 2011. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray with full military rites accorded by the American Legion post 902 of Houston and the VFW post 191 of Canonsburg honor guard.
