Edna M. Tomsic age 85 of Canonsburg passed away Monday April 30, 2012 in Canonsburg General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born October 16, 1926 a daughter of the late Joseph and Marion Rubis Kebart. Mrs. Tomsic lived her entire life in the Canonsburg and Strabane area and graduated from Cecil High School. She was employed for many years in the Washington County Treasurers office and was a lifetime member of both St. Genevieve and St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers and Guild.
Mrs. Tomsic was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a member of the SNPJ Lodge 138 in Strabane.
On September 8, 1951 she married Mirko Tomsic who died December 22, 2011, after 60m years of marriage. Surviving are two daughters; Marilyn Tomsic of Washington D. C. and Janet (Tom) Breiding of McMurray, a grandson; Jack Breiding, a sister Alice Kebart of Canonsburg and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a sister Sophie Sifinski and five brothers; Michael, Vincent, Walter, Alfred and Edward Kebart.
Friends are welcome from 9:30 to 10:30 am Wednesday May 2, 2012 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday in St. Patrick Church followed by interment in St. Patrick Cemetery.
