Edna Mae Moss, 89, of Canonsburg passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born on March 9, 1925 in Greene County, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Josephine Diggaditch Tilger.
Edna grew up in Houston and spent the rest of her life in Canonsburg, where she was a member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church. She volunteered countless hours with the PTA and as a homeroom Mom while her daughter and granddaughter were in school. A die hard Steelers fan, Edna also loved bingo, Polkas at the SNPJ, and Trader Jacks.
On October 26, 1946 she married Henry Eugene Moss, who passed away on November 25, 1988.
Surviving is a daughter, Tammy Moss Mock of Canonsburg; a granddaughter, Rachelle Mae (Hugh T. Whitlock, Sr.) Mock of Canonsburg; two great grandsons, Noah Eugene Whitlock and Hugh T. Whitlock, Jr., both of Canonsburg; and four sisters, Margaret Gabster of CA, Ann Murgel of Houston, Eleanor Tilger of Houston, and Dorothy Watters of Hickory.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by eight siblings, Michael, Charles, and James Tilger, Pauline Hancq, Helen Dalbo, Ethel Nagy, and twins who passed away in infancy.
Friends are welcome from 2:00-6:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2014 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg where a funeral service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Don Coleman officiating. At the request of the family, interment in Forest Lawn Gardens will be private.
