Edbina Ruth Marple

November 26, 1916 — May 18, 2009

Edbina R. (Bini) Marple of Mt. Lebanon, died on Monday, May 18, 2009 in St. Clair Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Ambrose.
Mrs. Marple was the beloved wife of the late Robert Marple; loving aunt of Mrs. Josephine Davis of Glendora, CA; Dr. Evelyn O. Talbott of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Sarah Anderson of Weirton, WV; and Mr. Frank O'Shinsky of Canonsburg.
She was also the great-aunt of Matthew and Aaron Davis of San Clemente, CA. and Jacqueline and John Talbott of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Marple was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church and the Slovene National Fraternal Organization of Lodge 138, Strabane.
She was a nurse anesthetist by profession and worked at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, for over 30 years. Mrs. Marple trained at the Canonsburg Hospital School of Nursing and was one of the first graduates from the Pittsburgh area from the School of Anesthesiology of Case Western University in Cleveland, OH. She took great pride in her work at Magee Women's Hospital and was present at the birth of her nieces and nephews.
Bini loved her family, friends, and flowers. Her active life encompassed traveling, luncheons and going to musicals and outings. Her long list of talents included Allegheny County Fair ribbons for her cross stitch and needle point. Her joys were playing the piano, bridge group, cross word puzzles and world travels. She will be remembered as always young at heart.
Friends are welcome on Wednesday, May 19, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. At the request of Mrs. Marple, Services will be private. Interment will take place in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
In lieu of flowers family request donations to the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church in memory of Mrs. Marple.
