Dorothy M. Yarkosky

Dorothy M. Yarkosky, 88 of Washington, formerly of Strabane passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017.

She was born on September 10, 1928 in Canonsburg to Joseph Florian and Leona Cwiklinski Florian who preceded her in death.

On October 24. 1953 she married Richard J. Yarkosky who passed away on January 18, 2010.

Dorothy was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Canonsburg.

Mrs. Yarkosky was a member of the Christian Mothers and Guild and SNPJ Lodge #138. She enjoyed bowling was passionate about sports, especially Pittsburgh teams, and was a wonderful polka dancer. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by three beloved daughters, Kathleen M. Rheam (Patrick) of Washington, Patricia G. Eckert (Thomas) of Bethel Park, Linda A. Tague (John) of Freeport, seven grandchildren, Eric Rheam (Chelsea), Douglas Rheam, Kristen Rheam, Emily Dvorsky (James), Julianne Eckert and Jonathan & Jocelyn Tague, and  three great grandchildren, Leo Rheam, Lucy Rheam and Claire Dvorsky.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Joseph Florian.

Friends are welcome from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m on Monday, January 16, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2107. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 317 W. Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
