Dorothy "Dottie Scarsella age 85 of Canonsburg passed away Friday April 10, 2015 in Consulate of North Strabane Twp. She was born December 20, 1929 in Midland a daughter of the late John and Mary Shaffo Brasco. Mrs. Scarsella lived in Peters Twp since 1962 where she raised her family, was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. Benedict the Abbot Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of Canonsburg Senior Citizens and was very active in the South Fayette (Cecil) Senior Citizens. Mrs. Scarsella enjoyed spending time with her family who were the light of her life.
Surviving are three daughters; Denise (Elbie) Yaworsky of Ambridge, Debbie (Patsy) Pitzarella of Canonsburg and Diana (Randy) St. Cyr of Sumter S. Carolina, two sons; Philip (Judith) Scarsella of Weirton WV and Paul (Linda) Scarsella of Beth Park, twelve grandchildren; Matthew (Samantha) and Andrew (Kate) Pitzarella, Amy (Sean) Dowd, Jennifer (Josh) Luce, Ashley (Tim) Cali, Shawn (Heidi) Scarsella, Michael (Cody) Scarsella, Eric (Brooke) Scarsella, Paul (Courtney King), Jonathan Scarsella, Joshua St. Cyr (Beth Graulty) and Rebekah St. Cyr, one brother; Joseph Brasco of Midland, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents is a brother John Brasco and her sister Rose Shutey
Friends are welcome Sunday 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday April 12, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/ supervisor, Lin Web Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 10:30am Monday. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15am in St. Benedict the Abbott Roman Catholic Church on Monday April 13, 2015. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Scarsella's name to; Rheumatoid Arthritis Research.
