Dora D'Ottavio age 85 of Strabane died Thursday October 27, 2011 in Canonsburg General Hospital. She was born April 11, 1926 in Avella a daughter of the late Frank and Emilia Camardese D'Ottavio. She had attended Avella schools and graduated from Chartiers High School in the class of 1943.
Ms. D'Ottavio had been a secretary for West Penn Power for 27 years, prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Canonsburg, the Christian Mothers and Guild and the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Canonsburg 1211. She was a member of Canonsburg Hospitals Women's Auxiliary where she had volunteered for over 20 years.
She was the last of her immediate family. Surviving are a niece Mary D'Ottavio of Pittsburgh and two nephews, James (Kathy) D'Ottavio of Pittsburgh and Joseph (Mary) D'Ottavio of Orlando Florida, devoted friends; Violet Bender, Helen Boles, Sharon Haramic and Eleanor Tilger and several great nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are three brothers, Liberto, Anthony and Frank D'Ottavio.
At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday October 31, 2011 in St. Patrick R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven cemetery, Peters Twp. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P.
