Dominick C. "Donnie" Calabro, Jr. age 75 of Canonsburg died unexpectedly Saturday, June 25, 2011, in his home.
He was born February 22, 1936, in Washington, the son of the late Dominick C. and Margaret Bohus Calabro, Sr.
Mr. Calabro lived most of his life in Canonsburg, where he was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Catholic Men's Club, social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, White Eagle's Club both of Canonsburg and the Muse Independent Club.
In his earlier years, he built homes with his father, who owned Lincoln Home's, and then for Andy Brother's Tire. Mr. Calabro retired after 33 years from Clad Metal's in 2001. After his retirement worked for 6 years at the Canonsburg Shop "in-Save.
Mr. Calabro enjoyed wood working, cooking, watching the Food Network, gardening and especially, for the last two years, his daily morning coffee with his friends at Bahr Hardware Store.
On June 23, 1962 he married his beloved wife Theresa M. Di Muzio who passed away on February 24, 2009, who he sadly missed.
Surviving are daughter, Dana Calabro (Dan Caruso, Jr.) of Canonsburg; son, Dominick C. (Angel) Calabro, III of Muse; sister, Margaret "Peggy" Terling of Lawrence; brother, Robert "Bob' (Mary) Calabro of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 2-8PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a Blessing Service will be held at 9:30AM Wednesday, June 29, 20011.
