Dolores M. (Grassi) Maffio

Dolores M. Maffio, 88, of Houston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.

She was born on June 10, 1927 in Houston, a daughter of the late Alfonzo and Christina DeMartino Grassi.

Dolores was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.  She enjoyed dancing.

On May 29, 1949 she married Bernard “Benny” Maffio, who passed away in 1979.

Surviving are three beloved children, Bernard “Tim” (Pam) Maffio of Washington, Paula (Charles) Boyle of Greensburg, and Rebecca (Gary) Wallo of Canonsburg; her twin sister, Doris (Salvatore) Cargnoni of Bridgeville; three grandchildren, Brandon Stewart, Rocky Maffio, and Willow Maffio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ercole, Chester, Nelson, and Daniel Grassi and four sisters, Carmie Gaydos, Sylvia Cavasina, Mary Marcantonio, and Gerry Farrar.

At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 8, 2016 in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.  Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.  Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.
