Dennis "Moose" Rosmus

August 30, 1952 — April 6, 2015

Dennis E. "Moose" Rosmus, 62, of Canonsburg passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 in Washington Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Canonsburg on August 30, 1952, a son of the late Edward J. and Betty J. Sohyda Rosmus.

Moose served on the Canonsburg Fourth of July Committee for over 25 years and was a lifetime member of the Polish National Union Club in Canonsburg where he served as Past President. He was also a volunteer firefighter from1978-1991 with the Canonsburg Fire Department.

An avid Steelers fan, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. Moose bowled on the Friday night PNU League and the Wednesday night Canonsburg City League. He was proud to have officially bowled two perfect 300 games! Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family, and the numerous dogs that he and his family had as pets throughout the years.

On April 29, 1978 he married Jean L. Horvath Rosmus, who survives.

Also surviving are his two beloved children, Heather L. (Ryan) Jablonski of Washington and Gabryel E. Rosmus of Canonsburg; a brother, Keith M. (Denise) Rosmus of Washington; a sister, Debra L. (Robert) Congie of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Keeley M. Rosmus, Gabryel E. Rosmus, Jr., and Layla J. and Riley R. Jablonski; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome from 2-8 PM on Friday, April 10, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 11, 2015. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Canonsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Canonsburg Fourth of July Committee or to the American Cancer Society of Washington County, 35 W. Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301.
