Delores Jean (Stevens) Walko

Delores Jean Walko, 67, of Canonsburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 25, 1948 in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Harry and Ethel Fife Stevens.

Delores loved people and welcomed everyone around her.  She was selfless and often put others’ needs above her own.  Delores enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sports.  She was fondly referred to as the team Grandma by the Bridgeville Sports Association and rarely missed a game her grandchildren were participating in.  Above all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

After 27 devoted years, Delores retired from St. Clair Hospital in 2010.

On October 9, 1965 she married her beloved husband, John F. Walko, Jr. who survives.

Also surviving are three loving children, John C. (Karen) Walko of Bridgeville, Christine S. (Eric) Kush of Bridgeville, and Michael J. Walko of Canonsburg; two sisters, Judy (Gary) Chenney of Akron, Ohio and Linda Kuech of Poughkeepsie, New York; six grandchildren, Desiree Armstrong, Eric Kush, Amanda Armstrong, Kaitlin Kush, and Jacob and Corinne Walko; three great-grandchildren, Abigail Tarr, and Jackhenry and Eric Kush; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.  She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Stevens, Jr. and William Stevens.
