David G. Herdman age 58 of Canonsburg, died Tuesday December 28, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family from a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on April 6, 1952 in Canonsburg, the son of the late Charles and Belva Engel Herdman.
Dave was a graduate of Canon-Mcmillan High School class of 1970 and also from Robert Morris College class of 1974.
He lived his entire life in Canonsburg, where he was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church. He also was an active parent participating as Cub Scout leader, Eagle Scout leader where he received the Order of the Arrow, also an Officer in Canonsburg Youth Baseball and Basketball and Canon McMillan Quarterback Club.
David had been employed by Udhe Corporation of America for the past 20 years as a Commercial Manager.
His granddaughters where the light of his life. He enjoyed being with family and friends and was an avid Steelers fan.
On June 15, 1974 he married his beloved wife of 36 years, Coleen Orr, who survives, also surviving are two sons, Brain S. (Jennifer) Herdman of Hillsborough, N.J.; Kurt D. (Jeanine) Herdman of McMurray; two granddaughters, Reagan and Claire Herdman; two brothers, Charles (Karen) Herdman of Cecil and Jerry (Karen) Herdman of Aurora Colorado. His extended family loved him as a son and brother.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-8 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM,Friday with Rev. Thomas D. Hamilton officiating.
