David G. Cullen age 70 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 31, 2024, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center Pittsburgh with his family by his side. He was born April 8, 1954, in Washington, a son of the late David Thomas Cullen and Mary Louise Wigner Cullen Thompson, with whom he made his home. David lived his life in Canonsburg, where he attended Canon- McMillan Schools and some years in California. He proudly served with the United States Army, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal, with one Overseas Service Bar, Marksman Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar and a Sharpshooter Qualification Badge with Grenade Bar. He had been employed as a truck driver with different companies prior to his retirement. Dave was a member of the Slovak Club, was an avid Pittsburgh Sports fan and enjoyed shooting pool. He belonged to many pool leagues over the years. Left behind to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother are his children, Bill (Renee) Haines of Morristown Tennessee and Amy (Phu) Trinh of Ft. Worth Texas, his sisters Sherry L’Amoureaux of Canonsburg, and Pamela (Edward) Blanck of Washington and John (Jack) Cullen (Dephony Boring) of Canonsburg, three step siblings, Diane (Bernie) Bible of McDonald, Gail (Donald) Densen of Meadville and Ralph “Butch” (Donna) Thompson Jr. of Canonsburg, four grandchildren, one great grandson and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Deceased, in addition to his father is his stepfather Ralph Thompson, sister Sandra Thompson Plott and a nephew Paul Hollenbach III.

Friends and family will be received from 10 am until 2 pm Saturday September 7, 2024, at SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120 where services will be held at 9 am Monday September 9, 2024. NO VISITATION SUNDAY Interment, with full Military Honors by the VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg Honor Guard and the United States Army will follow at 10 am in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
