Clair A. Robinson

Clair A. Robinson age 88, of Fort Myers, Fl., formerly of Canonsburg, died on August 23, 2010 at Hope Hospice, Fort Myers.
He was born on February 3, 1922 in Hickory son of the late Harry P. and Margaret Kaufman Robinson.
Prior to living in Fort Myers for the past 18 years, Mr. Robinson when lived in Canonsburg working for the former McGraw Edison Power Systems as a machine shop operator was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 and helped get started the Canonsburg Ambulance Service and facility.
Mr. Robinson was a graduate of Hickory High School class of 1941, Presbyterian by faith and served with the Untied States Army during World War II.
On June 27, 1992 he married Hazel L. Cannon Pierce, of 18 years, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Linda (Pete) Santi of Homestead Fl.; Gary (Jeanne) Robinson of Canonsburg; Joyce Robinson of Washington; Lori Robinson of East Pittsburgh; two granddaughters, Michelle and Rachael Santi; two step children, Susan (Harold) Edmundson of Lucernmine and William "Bill" (Doris) Pierce of Upper St. Clair ; seven step grandchildren, Shane Pierce, Treasure Maack, Mindy Smith, Brittany, David, Christian and Lillian Pierce, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is his first wife Betty L. Robinson whom he married on June 19, 1952 and passed away February 15, 1985, step son, Kenneth "Scooter" Pierce and two brothers, Harry, Jr. and Kenneth Robinson.
Friends are welcome on Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 10:00 AM at 11:00 AM the time of Memorial Service, with Pastor Joseph Di Donato officiating, at Salandra Funerals Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Canonsburg. Full Military Rites will be accorded by the combined Honor Guard VFW Post 191of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston. In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church 8260 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL. 33919, in memory of Clair.
