Charles E. "Punky "Green age 78 of Canonsburg, died at 3:49 pmFriday May 22, 2009 in his home following a four month illness.
He was born November 11, 1930 in Muse a son of the late Lloyd F. and Ruth L Green. Mr. Green livedmost of his life in the Muse area and attended Central Assembly of God Church in Houston. He was a graduate of Cecil High School and served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He had been part owner of Green Brothers and was employed for many years with Chapman Corporation. Mr. Green was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 66, American Legion Post 0793 in Cecil and was and avid outdoorsman.
On November 11, 1956 he married Roselin Spalla, who survives. Also surviving are, one son David C. (Elsie) Green of Ft. Mill, South Carolina, two daughters, Kelly (Edward) Powell Jr. of McDonald and Joanna (Dewey) Vozel of Washington. Three grandchildren, Brittany Powell, Elise Green and Evan Vozel and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are two sons who died in infancy, two brothers, James E. and Willford (Bill) Green and a sister Dorothy Jean Haught.
Friends are welcome from 2-8 pm Monday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P.Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg where services will be held at noon Tuesday May 26 with Reverend Bruce A. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, with full military rites being accorded by the American Legion Post 902 of Houston and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Family Home Hospice or Parkinson's Research.
