Charles William English, 63 passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in South Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center surrounded by his family members.

He was born on December 27th 1953 the son of Katherine Sandela English who preceded him in death.

On April 27, 1985 he married Patricia Staley who survives.

Charles (Chuck) was a lifelong resident of Canonsburg. He was a member of Canonsburg Knights of Pythias and the Canonsburg 4th of July Parade Committee since young adulthood. Chuck enjoyed membership in bowling leagues for which he achieved High Single and High Series trophies as well as enjoying his time with many Dartball leagues.

He had a 32 year career working for Pennsylvania State Hospitals. In his retirement years, he volunteered at the City Mission’s Canonsburg Hidden Treasure Store.

Chuck was a member of Good News Fellowship Church in Washington.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, Pirate fan and Penguin fan. He had great admiration for horses for their stature and beauty and loved the color purple. The most important aspects of his life was God, his family and his friends.

He will be greatly and sadly missed by his loving wife of 32 years Patricia English of Canonsburg, a daughter Wendy Staley of Canonsburg; grandsons D’Marion, Navarro and Sean, a brother Wayne English of Canonsburg, a sister Shirley Vasko (John) of Canonsburg along with a special niece, Christina Marsette of Washington and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister Lucille Wilson.

Friends are welcome from 2~8 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where funeral services will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday evening. Interment will be at 12:30 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville. Anyone wishing to attend the interment PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY.
