Cecilia (Honey) Falcocchio Cornell age 87 of Canonsburg died Sunday June 12, 2011 in Evergreen Personal Care of Washington. She was born April 11, 1924 in Lawrence (Hill Station) a daughter of the late Vincent and Giaconda Papola Falcocchio.
Mrs. Cornell lived most of her life in Canonsburg and was Presbyterian. She had been an aide at the former Western Center in Canonsburg and was a member for over 50 years of the American Legion Post 902 Ladies Auxiliary in Houston.
On July 5, 1947 she married Joseph J. Cornell who died December 17, 1966. Surviving are two daughters Beverly Cornell and Lynn (Edward) Yesenchak both of Canonsburg, two sisters, Lucy D'Amico of Cleveland Ohio and Quinda Paris of Canonsburg, a granddaughter Shannan Clemmens and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, James and Attilio (Teo) Falcocchio and three sisters, Rita Horstman, Angelina Bucci and Elizabeth Bernardi who died June 3, 2011.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday June14, 2011 in Salandra Funeral Service inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, where services will be held at 10 am Wednesday June 15, 2011 with Reverend Susan Kidder-Petritis officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Mrs. Cornell name be made to a Hospice of the donors choice.
