Cecelia A. Petro, 93, of McMurray passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in McMurray Hills Manor, McMurray.
She was born on October 23, 1921 in Monongahela, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Gregor Demyan.
Cecelia was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Canonsburg. She enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time with her family.
On September 25, 1943 she married George Petro, who passed away on October 26, 1993.
Surviving are her beloved children, Charles M. (Connie) Petro of Corning, NY and Margaret A. (Gary) Crossan of McMurray; a brother, Thomas (Juanita) Helm of Baldwin; a sister, Mary Parish of Finleyville; four grandchildren, John (Kelly) Petro, Michael (Jennifer) Petro, Jeffrey (Lauren) Crossan, and Jennifer (Anthony Rowe) Crossan; and four great grandchildren, Rachel and Elizabeth Crossan and Henry and Oliver Petro.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Sokolovich.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday, January 2, 2015 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 with the Parastas at 7:00 PM on Friday. Departing prayers will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the funeral home with Divine Liturgy immediately following at 10:00 AM in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 166 East College Street, Canonsburg with Rev. John Petro and Rev. Joseph Jugan as Celebrants. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Canonsburg.
