Carlo E. D'Amico, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at his home in Canonsburg.
He was born December 22, 1927 in Canonsburg, the son of the late Salvatore and Bridget Riccobene D'Amico.
During the Korean War he proudly served with the U. S. Army, testing tanks stateside in various climates. He was a retired operating engineer with the Local 66. Carlo enjoyed woodworking and handcrafted a variety of wooden birds and other items.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Ethel L. Cloud, whom he married on November 23, 1951. Also surviving are his son, Thomas E. D'Amico of Venetia; a granddaughter, Nicole (Kimb) D'Amico-Hawkins of Cranberry Twp.; two sisters, Mary Olivito of Ohio and Lucy Wayne of Michigan; a brother, Mario (Gloria) D'Amico of Muse; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph D'Amico and a sister, Helen Zolidas.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp. with full military rites accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard.
